With the rise in oil prices, the Macedonian opposition party OBRM-PDUKM has issued a press release.
In their reaction it is said that the citizens of Northern Macedonia are paying the price of more expensive fuels in Germany but with the salaries of Macedonia.
"For two days, because of Kovacevski, fuel increased by 12 denars, filling the budget at the expense of the people.
Just two days ago, a liter of oil cost 86 denars, while now it is 97.5 denars, a liter of gasoline two days ago was sold at a price of 97 denars, while now it is sold for 109 denars.
This is an increase of 12 denars for two days.
This increase of only 10% comes as a result of the increase in the price of oil on world stock exchanges, while 90% is due to the high excise tax of the government, which increased several times from 2017 until today.
Now our citizens are supplied with fuel as in Germany, but with Macedonian salaries.
Following the announced fuel tax cuts, prices in Germany will be lower than in Macedonia.
Many times in the past when the price of oil on world stock exchanges was around 140 dollars per barrel, the price of a liter of fuel in Macedonia was about 75 denars, but then SDSM was not in power, and raising fuel excise tax was not a way to fill the budget.
Now SDSM has brought the economy to its knees.
The budget has no way to be filled and the people are being hit.
