The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vuiqi., Had a telephone conversation with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, where after this conversation he announced that Serbia and Russia will sign a three-year agreement on the supply of Russian gas.

Regarding this, the Chief of Staff of the Presidency of Kosovo, Blerim Vela, reacted, asking the European Union how long it will tolerate this behavior of Serbia, since the latter is a candidate to join the EU.

"Putin and Vucic agreed in a phone call today that Russia will continue to supply natural gas to Serbia and the two countries will strengthen their partnership.

Serbia, an EU candidate country, deepens co-operation with Russia instead of aligning with EU sanctions.

"How long will the EU tolerate this?" Vela wrote on Twitter.

The price of gas that Serbia will buy from Russian Gazprom is currently three times lower than the price at which other European countries buy this material, while in winter, this price will be ten to 12 times lower.

Vuiqi tha said that the price is expected to be 340 to 350 dollars per 1,000 cubic meters of gas, but "this is not the final price because it will depend on the quantity that will be sent".

He stressed that they have agreed on the price for the supply of 2.2 billion cubic meters of gas per year and the state of Serbia needs another 800 million cubic meters due to the development of industry.

The current agreement on Russian gas supply expires on May 31.
