Pictures of a man killed by gas in a Brazilian police car surfaced

Pictures of a 38-year-old man suffocating in the trunk of a police car have surfaced.

With these pictures

, a lot of anger is being expressed against the police in

Brazil .

In the pictures taken in the phone camera, it is seen that the police officers put the person in the trunk of the police car with handcuffs and open a gas cylinder in it.

This is until his screams subside or his legs loosen up. 

According to Reuters,

 Brazil's federal police said in a statement that they had opened an investigation into the circumstances in which the incident occurred.

The brutal murder of Genivaldo de Jijus Santos has been described by family members as a murder by suffocation.

It is now being shared on social media.

Family members say that this person was suffering from schizophrenia.  

A few days before these pictures, another case of police violence was being condemned on social media.

And the family members had set fire to the tires on the highway jam and demanded justice.

Earlier this week, at least 23 people were killed in a police raid in a slum in Rio de Janeiro.  

According to the victim's family, when Santos was riding a bike in the area, the police reached him.

When the police found schizophrenia medicine from him, he was terrified.

After this he released some gas, till he became unconscious.

Then he was taken to the hospital.

But then it was too late.  

In a statement, the Brazilian Federal Highway Police (PRF) said it was not allowing the police to pass.

He had to be sedated because of his aggression. 


On the way to the police station, Santos' health had deteriorated and he died on reaching the hospital.
