The Prime Minister Kiril Petkov

Kiril Petkov Petkov was born in 1980. He is one of the founders of the Center for Economic Affairs. He met with the President of the State of Israel Isaac Herzog.

The two leaders discussed active co-operation between the two countries, raised to the level of a strategic partnership in recent years.

The Bulgarian Prime Minister was adamant that the mutual trust and excellent cooperation between Bulgaria and the State of Israel will continue to develop in new areas of mutual interest. 

Prime Minister Petkov stressed the great importance that our country attaches to its relations with the State of Israel, which have deep historical roots and are strengthened by the heroic act of rescuing Bulgarian Jews during World War II.

In the context of talks on deepening bilateral economic co-operation, emphasis was placed on energy and opportunities for partnership between the two countries.

During the conversation, Petkov noted that the priority for the Bulgarian government is to ensure the country's energy security, and in this regard the diversification of gas supplies is a key element.

Other topics of discussion between the Bulgarian Prime Minister and Israeli President Isaac Herzog included potential opportunities in areas such as tourism, security, investment and innovation.
