"Rapid antigen tests should be used to detect Covid-19 and not PCR tests, because of the complicated way of waiting and because of the cost," representatives of the Commission for Infectious Diseases agreed today.

From there it was requested to prepare a proper protocol for the use of rapid antigen tests in health institutions and if in any case it is not possible to use it, the PCR test will be applied again.

"About 1000 antigenic tests are available to virtually any public health institution that can use them at any time because there are stocks.

"Citizens should not buy the tests, but can use them at health institutions where they are referred for diagnosis or additional procedures," said Zlate Mehmedovic, spokesman for the Commission for Infectious Diseases.

He stressed that the situation with the coronavirus in the country is stable, there is a decrease in weekly figures.

Measures to keep the mask in hospitals, public transport and nursing homes remain in place and there is currently no need for additional intervention and changes, the Infectious Diseases Commission added.
