We have a prime minister who was caressed by three popes, Kiril Petkov - by one.

There are things that the government is dealing with in view of the very difficult situation.

For example, the gas crisis.

The government did it.

He sent two very strong messages that Bulgaria can do without Russian gas in this situation.

Second - the price may not be as good as we had under some contracts.

This was said in an interview for the program "Since the day" by the political scientist Assoc. Prof. Daniel Smilov.

"At some point, the war will end.

Then, when we sit at the negotiating table, this episode will be very important for Bulgaria.

"Our country will not be able to be blackmailed in the way it is now," he said.

Smilov criticizes President Radev's mixed messages.

"He sometimes sends messages that seem to call into question exactly where Bulgaria is positioned - yes, in the EU and NATO, but we hold on to Russian gas and will not send weapons," he said.

Political scientist Dimitar Ganev expressed the opinion that the war in Ukraine has started a process of rearrangement in Bulgarian politics.

"A very complex coalition with a common foundation - anti-status and anti-GERB.

After February 24 - the beginning of the Russian invasion, there is an obvious rearrangement in the layers of Bulgarian politics.

We are rather a camp on a firm Euro-Atlantic position.

"The issue of the last four months is the war in Ukraine, which pushed this new division," he said.
