Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has said on Monday that his government will soon start work on the caste census after taking the opinion of all the parties.

The all-party meeting on the caste-based census is likely to be held on May 27.

According to news agency ANI, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said, "We will convene an all-party meeting for the purpose of knowing everyone's views regarding the caste census. After that that proposal will be presented before the state cabinet. We have held this meeting on May 27." We have talked to some parties about organizing it, but at present the response of some parties is awaited. After the final decision is taken, the proposal will go to the cabinet, and then we will start the work."
