Taiwan .

China said on Monday that it is ready to protect its national interests regarding Taiwan.

 This statement has come condemning

China 

after US President

Joe Biden said 

that Taiwan would be given military security if it was invaded .

Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin told reporters, "No one should underestimate China's steadfast resolve, the sincere will and strong ability of the Chinese people to defend national sovereignty and border integrity."  

Earlier, US President Joe Biden had said that if China attacked Taiwan, America would give military help to Taiwan.

China considers Taiwan as its part, while Taiwan sees itself as an independent country. 

US President Joe Biden said on Tuesday that the US would provide military assistance to Taiwan if China invades the self-governing island of Taiwan.

Joe Biden warned that China is "playing with danger."

Joe Biden was asked if China wanted to forcibly take control of Taiwan, would the US intervene militarily?

Despite ruling separately for more than seven decades, China has threatened Taiwan that "Taiwanese independence" would mean war.

On June 1 last year, Chinese President Xi Jinping pledged full integration with self-ruled Taiwan and vowed to thwart any attempts at formal independence for the island.

US Trade Chief Katherine Tai met Taiwanese minister John Deng, without portfolio, on the sidelines of a cabinet meeting in Bangkok last week.

Here there was talk on further strengthening the economic ties between the two.

Senior Chinese diplomats warned the US that it was going "the wrong way" with regard to Taiwan.


China said that America's strategy is under the banner of freedom and openness, but America is forming "small groups" to control China.
