U.S. President Joe Biden has offered North Korea the coronavirus vaccine but has received no response, he said in Seoul today after meeting with South Korean counterpart Yoon Suk-yeol.

He said: "I am ready to meet with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un if he shows interest in serious talks."

For the fifth day in a row, North Korea reported more than 200,000 new patients with fever symptoms.

For those who are not seriously ill, newspapers sponsored by the ruling party recommend medicines such as ginger tea or willow drinks.

These drugs otherwise according to the North Koreans help relieve pain - however they are not effective against coronavirus.

Some other media have even recommended the use of salt water

Otherwise, the number of infected has gone to three million, and citizens are not vaccinated.
