Some published footage shows Kim Jong Un smoking as he blames his government and health officials for an 'immature' response to the growing cases and deaths of Covid-19.

North Korea acknowledged its first coronavirus outbreak last week after claiming the country had been without a pandemic for the past two years.

At the time, the country reported more than 2.4 million people were battling fever and also reported 66 deaths.

And according to foreign media, the Telegraph reports, Kim Jong Un admitted in an unusual way that the spread of the epidemic in his largely unvaccinated population was a "major catastrophe".

He blamed the local government for this, saying at a meeting on Saturday that the responsibility was 'immaturity in the state capacity to cope with the crisis'.

And now a video has come out where the dictator is seen smoking a cigarette while scolding his Labor Party.

However, Kim also went on to tell the Politburo that the virus was 'steadily being controlled and reduced'.

Kim insisted the country was beginning to control the blast and called for tough vigilance to maintain the 'affirmative trend' in the antivirus campaign.

All this was reported by the state media KNCA, which did not specify exactly what was said.
