Poroshenko also spoke about the "de-Putinization" of Europe and stressed: "Putin understands only power and will go as far as the world will allow.

But I want to say that Putin should not forget that an anti-Putin coalition was formed in Ramstein - as once anti-Hitler.

And de-Putinization is a process that will unite the world. "

We offer you excerpts from the interview.

- How do you assess what is happening now at the Azovstal plant, where the defenders of Mariupol and Ukraine have been defending for more than 80 days?

Their courage was watched by the whole world, but now they and the country's top leadership have decided that they are, in fact, surrendering.

How do you evaluate this operation?

- You are absolutely right that the defense of Mariupol and the defense of "Resurrected", according to estimates, including Western, NATO generals, will forever be included in history textbooks and military science textbooks.

I think that there are few precedents in the world, or none at all, when without food, without water, without ammunition, in the mighty fighting spirit of thousands of people kept.

And performed a very important military function - because the two divisions of the Russians were connected.

And this facilitated defense on other very important sections of the front.

Regarding the attitude of the Russian Federation to Mariupol.

At first, all Russians hoped to be greeted with flowers and bread and salt, but they were greeted with "Molotov cocktails."

And the most Russian-speaking city in Ukraine turned out to be so Ukrainian, and they faced such resistance that Putin's crazy head decided: "So don't get to anyone!"

And it will go down in history - not only the defense of "Azavstal", but also the bombing of the Drama Theater, hundreds of civilians killed in the bomb shelters of the theater, where they just wanted to save lives.

These people just wanted to live.

And forever Mariupol will go down in history with the maternity hospital that was bombed.

And with Russia's reaction to this - that these were actresses who played the role of pregnant women.

And the Russians will have to answer for it.

Mariupol, as well as Bucha, as well as Akhtyrka, and Trostyanets, and Chernihiv, and Gastomel, and Vorzel will also go down in history - as a symbol.

Q: What's next?

I initiated the appeal to the world and I am very grateful that other presidents of Ukraine, Kuchma and Yushchenko, supported him.

We appealed to the world to focus on Mariupol and the fighters who defended it.

I want to remind the crazy Wasserman or Volodin [from the State Duma of Russia - RS), who are going to judge someone for something there: in Russia there is no jurisdiction over Mariupol.

Mariupol is a Ukrainian territory.

Soldiers - Ukrainian soldiers who defended the Ukrainian state.

And you have no right to hold any trial over them under any international law!

You want to do it as a PR campaign.

But the world really shouldn’t let you do that.

We need to bring our heroes, our soldiers, our boys and girls home, immediately.

- You say that the world should put pressure on Russia.

But so far, third countries have failed to persuade Putin to extract the Azovs.

Why?

- It was not possible to persuade, because Putin considers these people cards in his inhuman game.

And the position of the world must be demonstrated: the world does not believe in this game, the world is not afraid of this game.

And the world considers this game absolutely hopeless and meaningless.

And then Putin will have a strong motivation to back down.

Now we need to talk about the sixth package of EU sanctions, Hungary and oil supplies through the Druzhba pipeline through Ukraine.

About Russian gas, about the naval blockade of Russian exports.

It is necessary to make the total sales of Russian exports not more than 200 billion dollars instead of the current 500-600.

And then Putin will have a very powerful motivation: in the first stage - to return the "Azovs" to Ukraine, in the second stage - to withdraw their troops from the occupied part of Ukraine.

- How long do you think the war will last?

- My recipe is very simple.

The instruments of ending the war are weapons, weapons and weapons.

The first necessary weapon is heavy weapons.

And today, the game has changed: it's 500 tanks, it's a thousand infantry fighting vehicles and armored personnel carriers, it's 300 anti-aircraft systems, it's 100 fighter jets and 200 helicopters.

And the fate and future of the world and Europe depend on it.

The relationship is very simple: more weapons - a shorter path to peace.

And this is finally beginning to be understood.

Weapon number two: embargoes and sanctions.

- Do you mean the embargo on both Russian oil and gas?

- No.

An embargo on all Russian exports.

We need an obstacle to exports, a naval blockade.

Because you can cut off oil supplies, and the European tanker fleet will still carry oil to Southeast Asia.

It doesn't work.

An embargo cannot be an end in itself.

And sanctions must be destructive.

And then it will be sanctions on nuclear fuel, coal, engineering products, sanctions, sanctions, sanctions.

And vice versa: the categorical destruction of any restrictive measures of the Russian Federation and its fleet against Ukraine.

We cannot allow Russia to close the Black Sea to us.

And it should be a separate program of cooperation with the NATO Navy.

Our goal is to reduce Russian exports.

And then it will be a real threat that Putin will think about.

Because then it will already pose a threat to Putin's stay in power.

And the third weapon is Putin's isolation.

This should be a reaction to the fact that Russia is moving very rapidly towards becoming North Korea.

And Mr. Putin has an inadequate and unpredictable dictator like Kim Jong Un.

I guess it can still be stopped.
