The Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama and a team from the Netherlands have announced today the project of the new port in Durrës, from which project is expected to be built "Dry port" in Pristina.

Rama has called the project of the "Dry Port" in Pristina a masterpiece, an extension of the project of the new port in Durres, the impact of which is expected to extend throughout the region.

"The extension of the dry port in Pristina is a masterpiece," Rama said.

The initiative for the "Dry Port" in Pristina is the first to be realized and here are expected to be investments of millions.

The team from the Netherlands, led by Eric Schimdt during the presentation of the project emphasized that "Dry port" in Pristina is part of a whole logistics chain, while emphasizing that it was interesting when they saw all those opportunities to expand the project.

Asked by Rama that the project of the new port in Durrës "Port of Durrës - Porto Romano" - "The Gateway to the Western Balkans" will practically be in Prishtina, Schmidt said yes.

"Practically, this also becomes a port of Prishtina", said Rama.

"… But the port itself is just a port .. but it should be considered as an element of a whole logistics chain… .These have the potential to create an entry port in the Western Balkans…", said Smichdt from the Dutch team.

"Exactly, this was the goal…. From the beginning we saw that the current port was a whole mess, there was no capacity to develop, there was no connection", said Rama, adding that the new port will have potential, capacities and will make the gateway throughout the Western Balkans.
