Which is the most affected in the state.

The water released from the Barapani dam in Meghalaya and the rise of the Kopili river has completely submerged the area.

Hundreds of families have been submerged in water in the village in just two days.

His mud hut has already given way to the flood waters, currently waist-deep and rising hour by hour.

Lilabati and her family of seven people are trapped in the floods, their ten bighas of agriculture has also been destroyed.

The produce from these lands would have given them food for a year and the family would have earned at least one lakh rupees, but now there is nothing left.

Lilabati told NDTV, “We had taken a loan of ₹ 50 thousand for paddy cultivation in our ten bighas of land. How will we repay now? We are having food only once in a day and we have nowhere else to go. There are no resources. We are waiting for government help."

His 80-year-old father-in-law Mangal Das said that I have seen many floods, but this time it is quite frightening.

Amidst the rising flood waters in Assam, the challenge is for the government to speed up its rescue and relief operations, but for hundreds of families like Lilabati, every flood is a challenge to survival.

This time many people have been left without crops, without food grains, money and even a country boat to move to safer places, waiting only for government help.
