The head of the Parliamentary Group of the Democratic Party, Enkelejd Alibeaj has convened today a meeting of the parliamentary group of the Democratic Party to discuss the names that will be proposed for the post of President of Albania, in the second round of voting in Parliament.

According to A2 CNN sources, within the PD parliamentary group the names that will be discussed are Dritan Demiraj, former military and former Minister of Interior in the technical government resulting from the agreement of May 17, 2017, Visar Zhiti, former Minister of Of Culture and former Attorney General, Ina Rama.

Meanwhile, it is also learned that Fatmir Mediu and Agron Duka have proposed the name of Dashamir Shehi for the post of President.

The day before, the majority and the opposition agreed that in the next two rounds, the candidacies for the presidency will be presented only by the opposition.

The agreement reached does not mean that the SP will automatically accept the opposition's proposals.

If there is no agreement on the candidacies until the third round that require a qualified majority with 84 votes, the Socialists will then come up with their proposals in the last two rounds, which enable the election of a new President by a simple majority of 71 votes. .
