The finalists of the "Amateur Satellite Modeling" and "Unmanned Aerial Vehicles" competitions held among Azerbaijani students within the "TEKNOFEST Azerbaijan" project with the participation of Turkish youth have been announced.

The Ministry of Digital Development and Transport told APA-Economics that the finalists of both competitions, organized in partnership and organized by Azercosmos, were determined in accordance with the selection criteria of the TEKNOFEST Azerbaijan project.

Seven of the 23 teams in the Amateur Satellite Modeling competition qualified for the Flight and Post-Flight Report stage after successfully completing the Application, Mission Assignment and Component Selection and Video Report Preparation stages.

Teams from the National Aviation Academy of Azerbaijan, the Baku branch of the Moscow State University named after MVLomonosov, the Azerbaijan State University of Oil and Industry, the Baku Higher Oil School and the Baku State University had a chance to launch their satellite models.

A total of 130 teams from 45 universities in Azerbaijan and Turkey applied for registration at the international unmanned aerial vehicle competition.

Fourteen of them qualified for the "Flight and Post-Flight Report" stage of the competition, fully meeting the conditions of the "Application", "Mission Assignment and Component Selection" and "Preparation of Video Report" stages of the competition.

10 of them are Azerbaijani and 4 are Turkish.

They will demonstrate the missions of their models in the Flight and Post-Flight Report phase.

Before the awards day of the TEKNOFEST Azerbaijan festival on May 26-29, the teams that made it to the finals of the Amateur Satellite Modeling and Unmanned Aerial Vehicle competitions on May 23 and 24 will fly to the Hajigabul airport.

The teams that successfully complete the flights will take part in the awards ceremony, which will take place on May 28 at the Baku Crystal Hall.

It should be noted that these competitions are organized in a number of countries in order to increase interest among students in the field of aerospace, unmanned aerial vehicles, the formation of fundamental knowledge and skills in this field.

In addition, teams gain skills such as innovative approaches to tasks, teamwork, presentation and planning.


The tasks set in both satellite modeling and unmanned aerial vehicle competitions create conditions for the application and development of theoretical and practical knowledge in engineering areas such as electronics, mechanics, programming.
