The trade balance for March 2022 is negative in the amount of EUR 244.7 million with a deficit of EUR 312.3 million for March 2021, the Bulgarian National Bank announced.

For the first quarter of 2022, the trade balance was negative at more than 1.186 billion euros (1.6 percent of GDP) with a deficit of 513 million euros (0.8 percent of GDP) for the same period in 2021 d.

Exports of goods in March amounted to nearly 4.2 billion euros, an increase of 1.24 million euros (42.1 percent) compared to March 2021. 

The deposits of non-financial corporations at the end of March were 610,000, according to the BNB

In January-March 2022, exports amounted to 10.6 billion euros (14.2 percent of GDP), an increase of 2.8 billion euros (36 percent) compared to the same period in 2021.

Imports of goods for March 2022 amounted to over 4.42 billion euros, an increase of 1.17 billion euros (36 percent) compared to March 2021 (3254.7 million euros).

For January - March 2022, imports amounted to more than 11.85 billion euros (15.8 percent of GDP), increasing by 3.5 billion euros (41.8 percent) compared to the same period in 2021. 

The balance on services is positive in the amount of EUR 306.6 million compared to a positive balance of EUR 258 ​​million in March 2021. For January - March 2022 the balance is positive in the amount of EUR 865.2 million (1.2 per cent of GDP) with a positive balance of EUR 749.9 million (1.1 per cent of GDP) for January - March 2021 

The current and capital account of the country for March is negative and amounts to EUR 508.6 million with a deficit of EUR 159.2 million for March 2021. For January - March 2022 the current and capital account is negative and amounts to 1 , 34 billion euros (1.8 percent of GDP) with a positive balance of nearly 270 million euros (0.4 percent of GDP) for January - March 2021. 

For March 2022 the current account balance is negative and amounts to EUR 347.4 million compared to a negative balance of EUR 234.4 million for March 2021. For January - March 2022 the current account is negative and amounts to 946 EUR 7 million (1.3 per cent of GDP) with a positive balance of EUR 35.2 million (0.1 per cent of GDP) for January - March 2021. 

The capital account for March is negative and amounts to EUR 161.1 million with a positive value of EUR 75.2 million for March 2021. For January - March 2022 the capital account is negative - EUR 394 million (0.5 per cent of GDP), with a positive value of EUR 227.7 million (0.3 per cent of GDP) for January - March 2021.

The financial account for March 2022 is positive in the amount of EUR 125.2 million with a positive value of EUR 228.9 million for March 2021. For January - March 2022 the financial account is negative - EUR 482.7 million ( 0.6 per cent of GDP), with a positive value of over 1.5 billion euros (2.2 per cent of GDP) for the same period in 2021. 

According to preliminary data, foreign direct investment in the country (reported in accordance with the principle of the initial direction of investment) increased by EUR 112.5 million in March 2022, compared to EUR 41.5 million in March 2021. January - March 2022, foreign direct investment in the country increased by EUR 1,055.8 million (compared to EUR 244.1 million in January - March 2021).
