Thane police arrested Ketki Chitale after registering a case against him at Kalwa police station.

Marathi actress Ketki Chitale, arrested for posting objectionable posts on social media against Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar, has been sent to judicial custody till June 1. Ketki was produced in a Thane court today, which ordered him to be sent to judicial custody for 14 days, but the Goregaon police immediately applied for his detention.

Let us inform that Ketki had made an objectionable post against Pawar, after which the Goregaon police station has also registered a case.

The court granted Ketki's custody to the Goregaon police.

Significantly, three more cases have been registered against Marathi actress Ketki Chitale, two in Mumbai and one in Akola district, for allegedly sharing objectionable posts on social media about Sharad Pawar. Earlier, cases were registered against the 29-year-old TV actress in connection with online posts in Thane, Pune and Dhule districts.

Sections 500 (defamation), 501 (printing or publishing a defamatory matter), 505 (2) (any statement, rumor or report promoting enmity, hatred or malice between classes) of the Indian Penal Code in these police stations. Making, promoting, publishing or transmitting), 153A (promoting enmity between people) have been registered.

The Thane police arrested Chitale on Saturday after a case was registered against him at the Kalwa police station over his social media post.

Here's the case: A post written by another person in Marathi, which Chitale purportedly shared on Facebook on Friday, mentioned only the surname Pawar and the age of 80.

The NCP chief is 81 years old.

The post reportedly contained phrases like "hell awaits" and "you hate Brahmins" referring to Pawar.

Pawar's party is in power in Maharashtra along with NCP, Shiv Sena and Congress.
