Earlier this week, North Korean authorities sent three planes to China's state-owned Air Corio to deliver medical supplies needed for anti-epidemic measures amid an epidemic of coronavirus in the country.

Earlier, Yonhap news agency reported, citing sources, that Pyongyang had turned to Beijing for help amid initial reports of the coronavirus in the country.

China has said it is ready to help North Korea if such a request is made, the agency said.

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un called on his subordinates to study China's experience in fighting KOVID-19 during a meeting of the Korean Labor Party's Politburo.
