Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer reiterated today that his country, which is not a member of any military alliance, says it does not intend to join NATO.

Speaking after the meeting in Prague with his counterpart Petro Fialo, Chancellor Nehammer said that the history of Austria is different from that of Finland and Sweden, and that this country aims to maintain its military neutrality, reports Telegrafi.

However, he stressed that Austria as a member of the European Union has shown solidarity with Ukraine, allowing arms shipments to Kiev to be carried out and has supported sanctions against Russia.

Meanwhile, Czech Prime Minister Fiala said that his Austrian counterpart has supported the idea of ​​expanding the capacity of the Transalpine Oil Pipeline (TAL), which includes refineries in Austria, Germany and the Czech Republic from the terminal in the Italian port of Trst.
