The President of Albania, Ilir Meta has responded to the accusations of the Prime Minister Edi Rama, after the calls of the latter to investigate him and the Prime Minister Sali Berisha.

In a communication with journalists, the head of state underlined that Rama wants to divert attention from the corrupt affairs of the government, when he asks the SPAK to investigate the president or Berisha.

"For the hundreds of millions of euros that foreign investors take from Albania because of the arbitrage business that they do.

Will he investigate Sali for non grata?

Based on the data of the NGOs, Rama and Sorros, you know how the media work, we also have those of Edi Rama's agency.

Who prevented them from investigating Sali?

Who prevented SPAK from investigating Ilir?

"These are done to divert attention and this [Edi Rama] should not be the second in the world, but he should meet the first [for corruption]", said Meta.

We recall that in recent weeks, Prime Minister Edi Rama has requested that the Special Prosecution SPAK investigate Berisha and Meta.

He said that the whole of Albania can not wait to see Ilir Meta in front of SPAK.

Continuing his speech today, Meta also responded to the article of the Austrian newspaper "Kronen Zeitung" which accuses him of paying 700 thousand dollars for a photo with US President Donald Trump on the day of his inauguration as president.

Meta called the news a recycled hoax from the 'renaissance'.

Meta said that he has notified the Albanian Embassy in Austria, while warning lawsuits against the authors of the article, whose names, as he said, will be made public very soon.

"There will be another trial in Vienna for this article in this newspaper.

It's all just a hoax.

I have been taking these photos for 30 years with personalities from all over the world, I have taken out the merchandise of the photo.

I have neither paid nor will I pay a single cent for any kind of photo or lobbying.

We notified the embassy in Vienna to inform them of the correctness.

But if I were not president I would not sue them.

They will go to trial and there is great competition from lawyers there to represent me.

"I will name all those who wrote," said Meta.

Meta stressed that this is an issue that received an exhaustive answer in 2018 from the SMI, and explained that in 2017 he was in the US together with the MP of the Socialist Movement for Integration, Petrit Vasili, invited by the organizing committee of the ceremony in the capacity of chairman of parliament.
