Committee meetings of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO PA) were held in the Azerbaijani Parliament today.

The Press and Public Relations Department of the Milli Majlis told APA that organizational issues were considered at the committee meetings with the participation of parliamentarians of the member countries, and the chairmen, deputies and rapporteurs of the committees were identified.

The meetings included speeches and discussions on "Cooperation in the post-pandemic period: challenges and opportunities for recovery."

The meeting of the Committee on Trade Agreements of the Organization for Trade and Economic Cooperation of the ECO PA was chaired by Tahir Mirkishili, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Economic Policy, Industry and Entrepreneurship.

Tahir Mirkishili said that this year marks the 30th anniversary of Azerbaijan's membership in the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO).

After joining the ECO, our country has constructively participated in various initiatives aimed at expanding economic and trade ties in the region.

MP Elnur Allahverdiyev spoke on the topic of the agenda "Cooperation in the postpandemic period: challenges and opportunities for recovery."

He spoke about the work done in our country during the pandemic, noting that Azerbaijan was one of the first countries in the world to receive the vaccine.

He expressed hope that the world would not face such a tragedy again.

The sides exchanged views on the topic, and parliamentarians voiced their views on the work to be done in the post-pandemic period.

The meeting of the ECO PA Committee on Communications and Coordination was chaired by MP Iltizam Yusifov.

Iltizam Yusifov spoke about Azerbaijan's interest in strengthening cooperation within the ECO in his speech on "Cooperation in the post-pandemic period: challenges and opportunities for recovery."

He stressed that Azerbaijan attaches great importance to the expansion of transport and transit links and informed about the projects implemented in this direction.

Iltizam Yusifov told the participants about the new realities created by the Victory in the 44-day Patriotic War in the region, especially in the development of transport and communication links.

The meeting discussed the topic and listened to the views of parliamentarians.

The meeting of the OIC PA Committee on Women, Youth and Cultural Affairs was chaired by MP Konul Nurullayeva.

In her speech on "Cooperation in the post-pandemic period: challenges and opportunities for recovery" Konul Nurullayeva spoke about Azerbaijan's experience in combating coronavirus, noting that there are few casualties due to preventive measures, along with youth and women's problems during the pandemic noted that he shot.

The meeting heard reports of parliamentarians on the topic and exchanged views.
