Finland and Sweden will submit their application for NATO membership tomorrow (May 18), Swedish Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson announced during a joint press conference with Finnish President Sauli Niinisto in Stockholm.

"This whole spring has been a triumph for democracy in Finland," he said, referring to the overwhelming support the application received in the Finnish parliament.

And inFinland and Sweden will apply to NATO on May 18

"We have agreed that Sweden and Finland will go through the whole process together. Tomorrow we will submit our applications," Swedish Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson said at a press conference with Finnish President Sauli Ninisto.

The Swedish Prime Minister stated that she will apply together with Finland for NATO membership tomorrow.

"We have agreed that Sweden and Finland will go through the whole process together.

"Tomorrow we will submit our applications," said Andersson.

The comment was addressed to the Turkish president's earlier statement on Monday that he would not approve Sweden and Finland's NATO membership in connection with sanctions against Turkey, and further accused both countries of harboring Kurdish "terrorist organizations".
