"As Turkey, we have always supported NATO's open door policy."

APA's Istanbul correspondent reports that Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said this at a press conference after an informal meeting of NATO Foreign Ministers in Berlin.

He noted that Turkey has always supported the "open door" policy, and Turkey supported Georgia, Ukraine and Bosnia and Herzegovina when many countries opposed their membership.

Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu reiterated the importance of the principle of alliance in NATO.

"President Erdogan has stated our position on Sweden and Finland's membership.

We are in this position not because we oppose NATO enlargement, but because we believe that countries that support terrorist organizations cannot join the alliance.

The two countries are meeting with members of terrorist organizations, and we have provided this information to our allies.

When we met with them, we spoke openly about our concerns.

"In addition, the two countries impose restrictions on military exports to Turkey, but it would be wrong for NATO allies to do so."

In addition, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said that the statements of the Swedish Foreign Minister on this issue are unacceptable, and the approach of his Finnish counterpart is real and positive: "It is proposed to work within the Alliance to address Turkey's concerns."
