Agartala (Tripura):

Tripura BJP chief Manik Saha will take oath as the chief minister today after BJP leader Biplav Kumar Deo resigned from the chief minister's post.

On Sunday, Manik will take charge of the state as CM at the Raj Bhavan in Agartala.

According to the information received, the swearing-in ceremony will be held at 11.30 pm.

Manik, who was elected as the new Chief Minister of the state, is a Rajya Sabha MP of BJP.

He is also the chief of Tripura BJP, where assembly elections are to be held in March next year.

Let us tell you that this is not the first incident, before this it has happened with BJP in Uttarakhand as well.

The CM had resigned just a few months before the assembly elections.

In such a situation, in the northeastern state where Trinamool Congress is ready to give a tough fight in the assembly elections to be held next year, the party has high hopes from Professor of Dental Surgery, Manik.

The party entrusted him with the post of Chief Minister so that he would strengthen the party, so that the BJP would win in the coming elections.

The name of 69-year-old Manik Saha, who was taking oath as the 11th CM of the state, surfaced just hours after Biplav Kumar Dev resigned for the post of CM contender.

After the name appeared, there was a meeting of the Legislature Board, in which everyone agreed on this decision.

Here, this sudden political upheaval has shocked the people.

Let us tell you that leaving Congress, Manik joined BJP in the year 2016.

In the year 2020, he was made the party chief.

At the same time, in March this year, he was sent to the Rajya Sabha.

However, before the assembly elections to be held next year, Chief Minister Dev has resigned in a hurry.

After submitting his resignation to Governor Satyadev Narayan Arya, he said that he has served the people of the state with all his heart.

Significantly, Dev had taken oath as the first Chief Minister of BJP in the state.

He is considered to be an important contributor to the BJP's victory in the year 2018 in Tripura, which is considered a CPI stronghold.
