According to Vice President Iliana Yotova

Iliana Malinova Yotova is a Bulgarian politician, 5th Vice President of the Republic of Bulgaria, Bulgaria cannot say "Yes" to the membership of the Republic of Northern Macedonia in the EU, while our country does not have enough guarantees in a concrete and significant document at European level to be taken into account in every step of the negotiations.

Yotova commented on the topic of the Republic of Northern Macedonia to journalists at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, where she participated in an international jubilee conference of the Bulgarian Language Institute.

"Bulgaria must stand firm and firm in its position.

"While we do not have enough guarantees in a specific document to be a significant document at European level, to be taken into account in every step of the negotiations, Bulgaria cannot say its 'yes'," Yotova said.

According to her, unfortunately, in the Republic of Northern Macedonia the anti-Bulgarian positions are becoming stronger, including at the highest level, and there is no desire for dialogue.

Kovachevski: There is no agreed joint decision that could be the basis for an agreement with Bulgaria

She added that "the results of the work of the historical commission, which was in our country last week, are more than scarce, but we have no information - ie hardly a step has been taken in any direction, at least in a positive way."

Regarding the supply and the price of gas, Yotova commented that at the moment there is no information about the agreements reached in the United States, what will happen after June, how it will be provided next winter and at what price.

"As you can see, the Bulgarian business and economy are literally numb because they have been working for more than half a month, and only two days ago they realized the price of gas they are working on and producing.

"Such non-transparency and lack of information not only hinders the economy, but makes many people close their businesses, which will then be very difficult to open," he added.

According to her, everything possible should be done to avoid a political crisis in Bulgaria, because it means "hardly another government within this parliament, but it means early elections."

According to her, the efforts of all institutions and all sensible politicians should be aimed at protecting the interests of Bulgarian citizens.
