A house of Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich worth 10 million euros has been arrested in the Portuguese Algarve region, Público reported on May 14.

According to the publication, 15 days before Russia's invasion of Ukraine, Millhouse Views LLC, owned by Abramovich's investment holding, tried to sell the property, but the Portuguese state-owned banking corporation Caixa Geral de Depósitos told police.

At the request of the Portuguese Foreign Ministry, property registration has been frozen since March 25.

After the start of the war in Ukraine, Raman Abramovich came under severe sanctions from the European Union and Great Britain.

His assets, including London-based Chelsea football club, have been frozen.

Abramovich recently signed an agreement to sell the club.

In mid-April, a court on the British island of Jersey froze Abramovich's assets worth $ 7.3 billion, and French authorities confiscated Abramovich's mansion on the Riviera worth $ 120 million.
