The Basic Prosecution of Tetova will file criminal charges against three natural persons and one legal entity, for the burning of the modular hospital in Tetovo.

The case is expected to be submitted to the Court of Tetova next week, after referring it to the Republican Prosecutor's Office, from where a positive opinion was received.

"The prosecutors of the case referred to the Republican Prosecutor's Office and the case is nearing completion.

Within the next week, the case is expected to be submitted to the Tetovo Court for further proceedings.

"After the completion of the investigation, charges will be filed against three natural persons and one legal entity", the Prosecution told "Alsat".

During the pre-investigation procedure, over 30 doctors and nurses were called, who were engaged in the COVID center in Tetovo on the fateful night when the module was engulfed in flames, to give their testimonies before the prosecutors of the case.

Eyewitnesses were also called, as well as family members who volunteered to testify.

German experts were also involved in the investigation, whose report arrived three months ago.

On September 8 last year, the modular hospital in Tetovo, where 26 patients were being treated, was reduced to ashes.

14 people lost their lives, of which 12 patients and two people who took care of their families.

After the event, the then Minister of Health Filipce and his deputy Ilir Hasani resigned, but the same were not accepted by former Prime Minister Zoran Zaev.

The general director of Tetova Hospital Florin Besimi and the economic director Artan Etemi also resigned./Alsat/
