Recently, the State Service for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control under the Ministry of Economy has received complaints about the violation of competition in the oil market.

The State Service told APA-Economics that an investigation was carried out on the basis of an appeal received by the State Service regarding the non-delivery of oil products purchased from SOCAR PETROLEUM CJSC to the buyer's address.

The investigation revealed that unfavorable contract terms were applied to buyers, and a lawsuit was filed against the CJSC on the grounds of violation of antitrust law.

The case was considered and the CJSC was instructed to bring the terms of the contract in line with the requirements of antitrust law.

At the same time, the State Service decided to pay to the state budget 27,412,962 manat of income received by SOCAR PETROLEUM CJSC as a result of activities that do not meet the requirements of the laws of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On Regulated Prices" and "Antitrust Activity".

If such cases are detected in the oil market, the strictest measures will be taken in accordance with the law.

The State Service for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control under the Ministry of Economy continues to take measures to protect the environment of fair competition and comply with the requirements of antitrust law.
