The Meteorological Department has issued a warning regarding 'Asani' storm in Andhra Pradesh.

Along with this, a red alert has also been issued in the state regarding this.

Meanwhile, parts of Kakinada district of Andhra Pradesh have been receiving rain since Wednesday morning.

Let us inform that on Tuesday itself, Odisha's Special Relief Commissioner Pradeep Kumar Jena had said that Cyclone Asani is likely to reach Kakinada on the Andhra coast on Wednesday morning.

  • According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy rain at isolated places in the coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal and Odisha in the next two days.

    The Meteorological Department has completely banned fishing in the Bay of West Central Bengal from May 10 to 11 and in the North-West Bay of Bengal from May 10 to 12.

    Along with this, fishermen from the sea have been advised to return to the coast. 

  • Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla on Tuesday took stock of preparedness to deal with extremely severe cyclone 'Asani', which is moving over the Bay of Bengal off the coasts of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha, where rescue teams were deployed to assist civilians. went.

    The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has deployed nine teams in Andhra Pradesh, while seven more teams have been asked to be ready.

    At the same time, one team has been deployed in Odisha and 17 teams have been asked to be ready.

  • 12 teams have been deployed in West Bengal and five teams have been kept ready, while additional teams are also sitting ready to help if needed.

    A Home Ministry spokesperson said, "The Union Home Secretary today reviewed the preparedness of the Central Ministries, Agencies and Administration in Andhra Pradesh and Odisha in view of Cyclone 'Asani' in the Bay of Bengal."

  • The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that the cyclone is expected to reach west-central Bay of Bengal near Kakinad-Visakhapatnam coasts by the afternoon of May 11, after which it will move to Kakinad and Visakhapatnam (Krishna, East and West Godavari and Visakhapatnam). district) may proceed towards Andhra Coast.

  • According to the IMD, due to the cyclone, wind speed reaching 75-85 kmph gusting to 95 kmph is expected over the coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh, while 45-55 kmph gusting to 65 kmph is expected over Odisha coasts. is.

  • Fishing activities have been advised to be suspended in view of the cyclone.

    According to a Home Ministry spokesperson, the Union Home Secretary has directed the Central Ministries and Agencies to continuously monitor the situation and be in touch with the administration of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha for any assistance.

  • The IMD is closely monitoring the cyclone and has issued 20 national bulletins so far.

    He is continuously informing the local administration about the cyclone situation and suggesting measures to save lives.

  • The Meteorological Department office said that there is a possibility of very intense sea movement in the west-central and adjoining south Bay of Bengal.

    According to the department, due to the cyclone, heavy rain is expected in the southern part of West Bengal including Kolkata, Howrah, East Medinipur, North and South 24 Parganas and Nadia districts between Monday and Thursday.
