In the afternoon of May 8 in Sumgayit, some details became known that a man stabbed his wife to death and wounded her mother-in-law.


APA TV reports quoting Qafqazinfo that the investigation revealed that Tofig Hasanov is a businessman who killed his 41-year-old wife Ilaha Isgandarova with 13 stab wounds and injured her mother-in-law in Kurd Darya residential area.

Thus, he operated in Russia and was engaged in trade.



According to preliminary information, the incident occurred due to a recent conflict in the family over money.

Thus, Tofig Hasanov said that the 180,000 manat he kept in the apartment had mysteriously disappeared.

At that time, he appealed to law enforcement agencies regarding the loss of money.

The businessman claimed that a large amount of money was seized by his wife and mother-in-law.


After that, their relationship deteriorated and they began to live apart.

Ilaha Isgandarov and her mother started living in their new house in Kurd gorge.



It is reported that Tofig Hasanov, who had previously served a prison sentence, was once again in conflict with his wife and mother-in-law on May 8 over a money dispute.

He killed Ilaha Isgandarov and injured his mother-in-law.


Tofig Hasanov was detained and handed over for investigation.
