In addition to being deprived of their liberty, prisoners in Kosovo have been unable to communicate with their families for two months now.

This is because prisons are facing a shortage of telephone booth cards.

A prisoner in the Dubrava Correctional Center, who is a user of the weekend, wrote in the address of the Telegraph, saying that no one is interested in the issue of telephone cards.

"For two months now, there have been telephone booth cards in no prison.

We are not able to talk to family members.

Nobody is interested here and we are left in a difficult situation.

"There are cases when they have sick relatives and they have no way to communicate," he wrote.

Regarding this issue, Telegrafi has sent questions to the address of the Kosovo Correctional Service, who have confirmed that there is a lack of supply with these cards.

KCS spokesman, Florent Gashi, said that the tender procedures for the supply of cards for telephone booths have already been completed and that very soon the Telecom Post of Kosovo will start supplying correctional institutions.

"We inform you that the tender procedures for the supply of cards for telephone booths have been completed and very soon PTK will start supplying correctional institutions with these cards", declared Gashi.
