Survey will be done today in the Gyanvapi Masjid and Shringar Gauri Temple dispute in Varanasi.

The team of the commission will reach the spot today at 3 pm on the orders of the court and during this there will be a videography team along with the lawyers of both the sides.

However media is not allowed.

A local court in Varanasi had ordered videography of the area where the idol of Maa Shringar Gauri is located.

It is in the premises of Gyanvapi Mosque of Varanasi.

(The mosque is located next to the Kashi Vishwanath temple).

It is believed that this videography will be done today and tomorrow. 

The idols of the deities are located at this place, it is opened for worship once in a year.

A group of petitioners had approached the local court seeking permission to worship there daily.

In April this year itself, the local court had appointed a court commissioner.

Along with this, by May 10, videography of the area was ordered and a survey report was given.

The court said that videography should be done in the presence of both the parties and the administration should maintain law and order.

The Gyanvapi Masjid Management Committee has said that they are opposed to any videography inside the mosque and will oppose it in a peaceful manner.

The survey should not be confused with the order of the 2021 survey of the mosque by a Varanasi court, which was later stayed by the Allahabad High Court.
