The US ambassador to the UN will leave for the Turkish-Syrian border.

APA reports that the statement came from the US Mission to the UN.

It was stated that Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield will visit Turkey on May 9 to visit the Bab al-Hawa border checkpoint.

The American diplomat will visit Syrian refugees living in Turkey, meet with partners of NGOs supporting the people in Syria and UN representatives in Turkey.

The ambassador will also meet with Turkish officials to discuss Turkey's role in facilitating cross-border assistance.

Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield will travel to Belgium on May 10 to lead a US delegation to the 6th Brussels Conference on "Supporting the Future of Syria and the Region" to be held in Brussels under the auspices of the European Union.
