Today marks 23 years since the assassination of the longtime chairman of the LDK and member of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo, Fehmi Agani.

Agani was killed on May 6, 1999, by Serbian occupying forces.

Agan's figure left an indelible mark on the history of Kosovo's independence, in the field of education and scientific thought.

Fehmi Agani, one of the founders and leaders of the Democratic League, was killed near Lipjan 19 years ago by Serbs in uniform and armed.

On May 6, 1999, Agani, along with his family, attempted to leave Kosovo by train.

At the border with Macedonia, the train turned back.

Somewhere near Fushë Kosovë / Kosovo Polje, police stopped the train and ordered everyone to get off.

Various testimonies published in the press say that Agani was taken either on a bus together with other Albanian men, or alone with the police inside a private car.

His body was found the next day along a muddy road near Lipjan.

In honor of Professor Agani years ago his monument was erected in the courtyard of the Faculty of Philology in Pristina.

From the 60's when he presented himself with the argument of the law of the Republic of Kosovo until his assassination, Agani had put all his creativity in the service of designing, arguing and achieving this goal.
