The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, is paying an official visit to Panama, to then continue in Costa Rica.

Experts on the political circumstances have given their assessments on the importance of President Osmani's visit to these two Central American countries.

For Arton Demhasaj from the organization "Çohu", the meetings that Osmani has held and that is expected to take place in these two countries are common and without any importance in the diplomatic aspect.

He estimates that since the independence of Kosovo, it has not happened that the heads of state, as in this case President Osmani and Prime Minister Albin Kurti, have not had any high-level meetings.

"I think that they are not very important as visits and meetings because they have not been made in strong western countries which can help Kosovo in any integration process.

As such, they are normal visits but they do not have any character that helps Kosovo in various processes ".

"So, these are regular visits.

It has not happened since independence that the president and the prime minister do not have high-level political meetings.

"Osmani has been to the US twice since her election as president, but there have been no high-level meetings of the White House or other important institutions there," Demhasaj told the Telegraph.

According to him, the dialogue and the rejection of the American gas pipeline by the Government of Kosovo, are the reasons that Osmani and Kurti were not received in the White House.

"I hope this situation will be overcome soon.

There is no doubt that dialogue is the cause because we know that after independence three or four governments have fallen because of this issue.

Anyone who comes to power and refuses to continue the dialogue by claiming that an agreement is reached as soon as possible, as the United States and Brussels are demanding, could have a strained relationship between the prime minister and the president and powerful people in the US and there may be no meetings. "Another issue could be the pipeline as an American project, which was not accepted by the Kurti Government.

"But I think the main reason is dialogue," Demhasaj said, adding that without any movement in the dialogue process, it is a problem for heads of state to have levels of high-level meetings in the United States.

But the other political analyst, Gazmir Raci, thinks differently from Demhasaj.

He said in an interview with the Telegraph that it is good news that President Osmani has started his visit to Central American countries, as all countries that are part of the United Nations are important for Kosovo.

"President Osmani is continuing to exercise her competence in representing Kosovo in diplomacy.

It is good that he has started visiting Latin American countries.

"Kosovo must be present on every continent."

"All UN member states are important for Kosovo because we aim to join this organization.

"We should be grateful to the countries that have recognized us and update the diplomatic relations we have with them," said Raci.

As for the high-level meetings, he said that for them to happen, there seem to be "major reasons".

"There must be major reasons for having high-level meetings at the White House.

"It is important that the American officials who were in Kosovo have reconfirmed that the United States will provide steel protection in terms of security in Kosovo and that of course the dialogue undoubtedly affects this direction as well."

"Regarding gas, we had a non-refusal which has not been clarified by Kosovo and we have not received an official response from the US, but these topics should be discussed at the roundtable of Kosovo-US bilateral meetings," he said.

Although quite commendable to the work of President Osmani, Raci had a critique of him.

According to him, Osmani must urgently sign lobbying agreements with well-known companies in America and make them transparent.

"I expect the president to correct a mistake she made earlier.

Must urgently sign lobbying agreements with well-known companies in America.

"Of course, if those agreements are signed with full transparency, there is no reason to delete them."

Kosovo, as Raci said, has historically had such agreements, but they have been dubious.

"There were such agreements during the time of the Thaçi Government, Mustafa and Haradinaj, but they were dubious, because they were not transparent", he concluded.

Otherwise, Costa Rica is among the first countries to recognize the independence of Kosovo, while the visit of President Osmani is the first of a Kosovo leader in this country.

Whereas, Panama recognized Kosovo on January 16, 2009, according to data from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
