The Times Higher Education (THE), one of the most influential rating agencies in the world, has announced the THE IMPACT Ranking for 2022.

APA reports that several Azerbaijani universities are included in the ranking, which measures the adequacy of the world's universities to the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and its impact on society.

It is gratifying that 6 higher education institutions from our country (Baku State University, UNEC, Khazar, West Caspian University, Baku Engineering University, Azerbaijan State University of Architecture and Construction) are included in the ranking.

Commenting on the topic, well-known education expert, Professor Shahlar Asgarov said that more than 5,000 universities out of about 25,000 universities in the world apply to the organization every year to participate in the rating assessment, and 1406 of them are included in the ranking this year. The number of universities included in this ranking has increased.

Last year, 1240 higher education institutions were assessed.

Two universities from our country managed to fall among the 601+ best universities in the ranking.

Shahlar Asgarov said that the assessment of the activities of universities in these 17 areas of the UN is entirely due to the practical role of education and educational institutions in the development of the world.

The right strategies and steps in these areas increase the participation of our universities not only in solving the problems of our country and the planet.

The professor noted that in recent years, it is especially gratifying that our two universities - West Caspian University and Khazar University - have taken flexible steps to meet new challenges, adapt educational programs to best practices, as well as significantly improve their infrastructure and logistics. The breakthrough can be welcomed in this regard: “Our two universities work with the best universities in the world - for example, Rowan University in the United States, Fairbanks University in Alaska, Oregon State University, Parma University in Italy, Stavanger University in Norway, Warsaw University in Poland and others.

ranked in the same rank as universities (601+).

There are many prestigious universities among the leading universities of the Caspian and Western Caspian Universities.

I can name some of them, for example: Huntsville, Alabama, Rochester University of Technology, USA, Bournemouth University of Arts, Great Britain, Pantheon-Sorbonne University, France, Adam Mickiewicz University, Poland, etc.

The universities that are in the same place in the ranking are ranked in alphabetical order.

In other words, the indicators of universities in places from 601 to 800 are the same, there must be some principle for ranking, and the organization has resorted to the most optimal method - alphabetical ranking.
