After meeting with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Berlin, the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, in a press conference, was harsh about the "Open Balkans" initiative, although he did not mention his name at all.

He said regional initiatives could not be a substitute for EU integration, but should accelerate them.

"We support the Berlin Process and welcome the Chancellor's commitment to resume this process with a new dynamic.

We also support the common regional market, which is located within the Berlin Process and the rules of the European Union.

He is all-encompassing, he has four freedoms.

That is why we do not support other parallel initiatives.

"For Kosovo, it is important that in this process, the citizens are the biggest beneficiaries", he said, Telegrafi reports.

Kurti says that Kosovo is not against regional initiatives when the European Union is presented as a value.

"We do not welcome regional initiatives that open the Balkans to powers from the East or Northeast and consider them unnecessary.

"Kosovo and the Balkans are open to the European Union and NATO, they are open to Germany and these are more than enough", declared among others Albin Kurti. /
