An optical illusion that will make you think well

Richard Russell's "Gender Illusion" seems to depict the faces of a man and a woman, but the images are in fact two versions of the same face.

The contrast in one of the images has increased, while in the other it has decreased, according to the illusion of age, Telegrafi reports.

The face with the highest contrast is considered feminine, while the face with the least contrast is considered masculine.

The eyes and lips are exactly the same in the picture because their contrast has not changed.

This is due to the fact that the features in one of the photos looked darker.

In the Oxford Summary of Visual Illusions, Russell explains: "Women's faces are more attractive with increased contrast than sitting, while men's faces are more attractive with reduced contrast than adults."

He said the illusion "shows the importance of this kind of contrast for gender perception".

Viewers were left confused as they tried to identify which face was female and which was male.
