The Minister of Internal Affairs, Xhelal Sveçla, while reporting to the Security Commission, also spoke about illegal roads in the north of Kosovo and border crossings.

Sveçla said that with the initiative of Kosovo institutions will open a third border crossing that of Izvor.

As he said, Kosovo is ready to discuss with the Serbian authorities based on reciprocity to make agreements for the passage of citizens across the borders, as he said they are in negotiations with the Republic of Macedonia.

"In that area there are no alternative roads but illegal roads, for which the state of Kosovo has decided to close.

There can be no alternative route between the two states without agreements between the two countries.

Everything that the Kosovo Police has done, has opened the obstacles for the roads that are illegal to be impossible to be used for illegal activity.

I am informed that there are complaints from residents, which in cooperation with KFOR and some ministries we are addressing.

There are cases when a road passes through the territory of Serbia and is used in locations in the Republic of Kosovo.

We have two official border crossings Brnjak and Jarinje and we have the initiative of our institutions to open the third, Izvor road.

There is no readiness from Serbia for this to happen.

This is another proof that Kosovo institutions are more concerned about the illegal crossing of people across the border between the two countries than that we serve the communities there.

I am ready together with the police to open as many border crossings as necessary to serve the citizens there, but this must be done within the law, by agreement between the two countries, the illegal use of those roads can not be allowed .

Neither you nor I can go illegally to Macedonia, nor to Serbia and Albania, there are rules, there are official crossings that we can use.

Now together with the team we are in negotiations with the Republic of Macedonia to regulate the passage of our citizens in the passage of Hani i Elezit.

"We are ready to discuss and reach an agreement with the Serbian authorities legally based on reciprocity," he said.

Meanwhile, the Serb List MP, Slavko Simic, criticized the operation in the north for closing alternative roads, especially for setting up barriers by digging holes, arguing that they are roads that connect villages and thus the movement of residents is hindered.

He complained that the operation was carried out without coordination with the police and local government.

Simic said that the approach of the policy towards the north is also wrong.

But the minister denied that he was criminalizing the north, but confirmed that there are only operations against crime.

"I do not know how many illegal roads there are.

If there are 70 roads, we have 70 more to close.

There are no illegal routes.

There are official border crossings.

We are ready to increase the number, the one who will go for dialysis will have the opportunity to choose.

You also mentioned local services.

There is no issue for discussion here.

No one is criminalizing the north, there are no complaints from citizens that the police in that area are behaving in a discriminatory manner, nor have we said that someone or a pistachio is to blame for the attacks that have taken place.

We know who is bringing that climate of attacks and it is the Serbian president who said that when we blocked the road due to smuggling, he said that we will smuggle goods differently.

"So, he directly supported the smuggling and this support shows such a climate for attacks", said Sveçla.

He also said that it will soon be known who attacked the police.

"Who attacked the police will be revealed very soon.

There will be results, as in the past.

The police have all the support not only political but also logistical and professional as they have of many of our allies to solve these cases.

We will not charge anyone a lump sum.

We will definitely bring those responsible to justice, for this we do not have good experience.

There have been dozens of attacks that have occurred before in that area and no one has responded.

Enver Zymberi was killed, the EULEX official was killed, institutions were attacked, border checkpoints were burned, civil registration centers were burned, there were many violations of the law that were not detected.

This kind of immunity from the law will no longer exist.

Anyone involved in criminal activity,

anyone who violates the law we will do our utmost to bring him to justice, without discrimination, without any doubt and without any circumvention.

"No one is above the law," he said.
