Russia's attack on Donbas has "begun to weaken" and the battle for the region will end in two to four weeks, says British military expert Dr.

Mike Martin.

The war researcher at King's College London thinks that "basically the Russians will run out of troops and the Ukrainians will counterattack", writes the BBC, reports Telegrafi.

And the Russians have missed a single chance to take the region, he believes.

"They withdrew all these damaged units from Kiev and then tried to regroup them for fighting in the east," he explains.

But they were "bruised and damaged" by the battle for the Ukrainian capital, and Russia failed to build them and "make a bold maneuver."

And Martin estimates that there has been a "major strategic shift" in the war, with the UK declaring that its goal is to remove Russian forces from Ukraine, including Crimea.

He added that UK Foreign Secretary Liz Truss was "wrong", however, to say that it would take 10 years, insisting: "Russian forces will collapse before that and we will see a coup. ”.

And with the announcement of $ 33 billion in US funding for Ukraine, "this is an extremely clear signal of intent," says Martin.

It also means that NATO and the US have decided that Vladimir Putin is playing a "game" on the use of nuclear weapons if NATO moves forward.
