Mumbai Local Train : Relief news for the passengers of Mumbai local train

Amidst the sticky heat in Mumbai, the capital of Maharashtra, travelers have got relief news.

The central government has announced a 50 percent reduction in the fare of local AC trains there.

Union Minister of State for Railways Raosaheb Danve made this announcement on Friday.

Danve said that the fare of air-conditioned local trains in Mumbai will be reduced by 50 percent. Danve made this announcement at the inauguration of the heritage building of Byculla railway station.

Maharashtra Leader of Opposition Devendra Fadnavis was also present on this occasion.

Danve said the minimum fare for a distance of 5 km will be reduced from Rs 65 to Rs 30.

The Union Minister said that the public had been demanding for a long time to reduce the fare of local AC trains in Mumbai.

He had received suggestions to reduce the existing rent by at least 20-30 per cent. Danve did not say when the revision in fare would come into effect.

Central and Western Railway operates around 80 air-conditioned local train services daily.
