The State Police has completed today an operation to apprehend a wanted person in Fier.

According to the police report, on the basis of information provided by the police, in cooperation with the Narcotics Investigation Section of the Fier Police, the wanted citizen Besmir Sopi, 30 years old, resident in Zhupan, Fier, was arrested.

"This citizen, after seeing the police forces, tried to leave by hiding in an area with dense vegetation, but was caught and stopped by the police services", it is said in the announcement.

Police have also distributed footage from the arrest of the 30-year-old.

The Court of First Instance Fier, with the decision of 12.04.2021, has sentenced this citizen to 3 years and 2 months of imprisonment, for the criminal offense "Production and sale of narcotics."

On September 29, 2020, during a search of this citizen's apartment in upupan, the Police found and seized 3 kg of cannabis sativa, ready for sale.

The materials were forwarded to the Prosecutor's Office for further procedural actions.
