German Ambassador to Turkey Jürgen Scholz has been summoned to the Foreign Ministry.

APA reports quoting TAS that he was reminded of the principle of non-interference in internal affairs enshrined in the Vienna Convention.

"After the German Foreign Ministry summoned our ambassador to Berlin today in connection with Kavala's case, German Ambassador to Ankara Jürgen Scholz was summoned to the Foreign Ministry by Deputy Foreign Minister and EU Affairs Director Farouk Kaymakci.

The summoning of a Turkish diplomat to the German Foreign Ministry was condemned.

He was told that no body, body or country could challenge the verdict of an independent Turkish court.

The ambassador was also reminded of the principle of non-interference in internal affairs enshrined in the Vienna Convention, "the statement said.

A court has ruled in favor of businessman Osman Kavala, who is under investigation in connection with the July 15 coup attempt in Turkey and the events in Gezi Park.

He was sentenced to aggravated life imprisonment for attempting to overthrow the government.
