Qatar can benefit significantly from the war in Ukraine.

Due to the fact that Europe wants to give up Russian gas in five years, Qatar will easily be able to increase its exports by 30% this year, writes Bloomberg.

According to the publication, in 2022, gas exports from Qatar will exceed last year's figure by one third and will reach 114 billion dollars.

Strong demand from Europe removes any doubts about Qatar's plans to increase liquefied natural gas exports by 60% by 2027. This project needs about $ 30 billion, which Qatar will now almost certainly have.

The new gas supercycle begins with the completion of ongoing preparations for the World Cup, which has supported Qatar's economy in recent years.

What opportunities does Europe have if Russia turns off the gas?

According to economist Ziad Daud, the moment is very good for Qatar, which could become a new engine of growth for the decade.

"This is an incredible opportunity. Qatar will be one of the most important gas exporters, which is likely to be in high demand in the coming years," said Karen Young, a senior fellow at the Middle East Research Institute.
