The Greek government is considering helping citizens with food stamps, according to the online edition of the Greek newspaper Imerisia.

A one-off financial assistance of EUR 200 or the provision of food vouchers using a special card similar to the fuel card is being discussed.

The platform for applying for state aid for refueling was opened in the country yesterday.

The government will allocate between 30 and 50 euros per month for the period April-June to households and self-employed persons with an annual income of up to 30 thousand euros.

For this purpose, they submit applications through a special platform and are issued a card to use when refueling a car.

Now the economic team of Kyriakos Mitsotakis's government is considering a way to help the most vulnerable citizens, whose purchasing power is declining due to the rise in the price of the consumer basket.

For several months now, the cabinet has been subsidizing electricity and natural gas bills for households.

In all probability, the state aid for foodstuffs will be one-time and will be granted according to the income of the households and according to the possibilities of the state budget, adds BTA.
