The Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama says that there is still no concrete name that the Socialist Party will propose as a candidate for President.

The Socialist Party of Albania has gathered this afternoon in Tirana to discuss, among other things, the new name of the president.

Asked by journalists after the meeting, the chairman of the Socialist Party, at the same time the Prime Minister Edi Rama, if Albania and Kosovo should have a president, Rama said that he would gladly vote for Hashim Thaçi and would be an excellent president but he can not.

"We would have put Hashim Thaçi and he would be an excellent president for both Albania and Kosovo, and we would have voted for him with conviction and satisfaction.

"But he is not present in the life of the civic community, as a free citizen, because a process is taking place against him so that you do not force me to say here what the process is", declared Rama.

Socialist Party deputies proposed the name of the new President on April 19 through a form placed in an envelope.

After opening the envelopes, 67 names were submitted and will be reviewed by the three negotiators mandated by Rama for this process: Taulant Balla, Elisa Spiropali and Damian Gjiknuri.

Rama himself has refused to reveal the three names he has proposed.
