Leaders from the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Memli Krasniqi and Ramush Haradinaj from the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) on the Day of the Missing have commemorated the Massacre of Meja and Korenica.

Krasniqi through the social network on Facebook wrote that clarifying the fate of the missing and punishing war criminals will always be Kosovo's demands until justice is done.

"Today we remember 376 unarmed civilians, brutally massacred by Serb forces in Meja, Gjakova, on April 27, 1999. Unfortunately, now, 23 years later, some of them are still missing.

The Meja massacre, one of the largest committed in Kosovo, reveals the barbarity of a regime whose sole purpose was the ethnic cleansing of Albanians.

But the traces of these crimes can never be erased.

Clarifying the fate of the missing and punishing war criminals will always be Kosovo's demands until justice is done.

"Glory to the martyrs of the Meja Massacre", Krasniqi wrote on Facebook.

Haradinaj also said that the missing are open wounds and constant pain for Kosovo.

Haradinaj through the social network on Facebook wrote that the Day of the Missing is marked exactly on the day of the massacre in Meje and Korenica.

"The Day of the Missing is marked exactly on the day of the massacre in Meje and Korenica, where hundreds of our brothers and sisters were martyred during the day, just because they were Albanians.

We do not line up seeking and remembering.

We miss every holiday and joy.

The wounds of war are not closed without the illumination of their destiny.

Also today, on the anniversary of the fall of my comrades, Edmond Dabiqaj, Sadri Latifaj and Haxhi Tolaj, we honor the contribution of the village of Prejlep in the Liberation War, the Martyrs and Martyrs who gave freedom.

Prejlepi was on the front line and made the best resistance the aggressor deserved.

Today we also remember comrades Bekim Thaçi, Fetah Sylejmani, Isuf Dinaj, Muhamet Bardheci, Mustafë Avdullahu, Pëllumb Ademaj, Rexhep Hajdaraj, Shkelzen Brahimaj and Xhavit Fetahaj who fell in the last battles of April across Dukagjini.

"Today and forever, a bow in honor of the sacrifice of the Martyrs and Martyrs of freedom", Haradinaj wrote on Facebook.
