Police have banned the Dharma Sansad to be held in Roorkee, Uttarakhand on Wednesday.

Along with this, Uttarakhand Police has also imposed Section 144 in Roorkee and a case has also been registered against the organizers of Dharma Sansad.

According to the information, some organizers have also been arrested.

The police have taken these steps after the strictness of the Supreme Court.

Let us tell you that while hearing the matter, on Tuesday, the Supreme Court had given a stern warning and said that if the hate speech is not stopped, then the Chief Secretary will be held responsible.

We will summon the Chief Secretary to the court.

The guidelines of the Supreme Court should be followed regarding hate speech.

All necessary steps should be taken to stop hate speech. 

The Supreme Court said that the Chief Secretary of Uttarakhand has been ordered to keep the situation on record and, if required, file an affidavit on the corrective measures taken by the officers.

Justice AM Khanwilkar said that the government is giving assurance, but it is not visible on the ground.

During the hearing, Kapil Sibal had demanded a ban on the Parliament of Religions to be held in Roorkee.
