However, Modi admitted that these speculations must have had some effect on the by-elections of the assembly.

The 2020 election of Bihar Assembly was fought by the NDA seeking votes on the face of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

Earlier, in the Nitish cabinet, Water Resources Minister Sanjay Jha had also claimed that Nitish Kumar would complete his term.

Jha's statement is believed to have been given to end the confusion created among his party leaders and workers about Nitish's future.
