Amid a series of deliberations by election strategist Prashant Kishor on the strategy for the upcoming general elections and assembly polls, a group of senior Congress leaders have given their recommendations to party president Sonia Gandhi and left it to her to decide whether to do so. But take a decision and initiate organizational change.

Sources said the eight-leader committee constituted by the Congress president discussed Kishor's strategic plan in detail and held discussions with several senior leaders while giving their suggestions to Gandhi and taking it forward to revive the old party.

Sources said some party leaders will meet again on Monday to further discuss the party's revival and strategy plan.

On Prashant Kishor joining Congress, some senior leaders had objections in the past considering his involvement with several political parties including BJP, JDU, TMC and Congress, though most of them have supported it but the final decision The Congress is left to the president.

Some senior leaders like Digvijay Singh have said that Prashant Kishor has come up with a concrete strategic plan and the committee has discussed it further.

Digvijay Singh along with Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Ambika Soni, KC Venugopal, Mukul Wasnik, Jairam Ramesh, P Chidambaram and Randeep Surjewala are among the panel formed by Sonia Gandhi, which met for several hours and held several rounds of discussions during the week .

During these discussions, he has also met many senior Congress leaders and Prashant Kishor.

Sources said that Prashant Kishor had earlier met some G-23 leaders in the Congress, when he also met some opposition leaders including Sharad Pawar.

It was suggested in this meeting that the opposition should fight the elections unitedly to oust Narendra Modi from power.

He had said that for this the Congress would have to be strengthened by handing over the party to a non-Gandhi.

Kishor, in his strategic plan for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and several state elections, has suggested several measures, including election strategy planning, structural and organizational changes in the party and alliances with other parties.

Kishor's 85-page 'power point presentation' is also circulating on social media, in which he recommended a non-Gandhi leadership for the Congress party, which will have a huge impact in the elections.


He has also suggested in this presentation the rebirth of Congress, protecting its spirit and creating a new structure as the need of the hour.

Kishor also said that there cannot be a functional United Progressive Alliance (UPA) without a strong Congress and hence the leadership should focus on rebuilding the party.
